LONDON BUS INITIATIVE—IMPROVEMENTS TO BUS ROUTE W8 (THE RIDGEWAY TO PICKETT’S LOCK LANE) AND BUS ROUTE 279 (PALMERS LANE)
WAITING RESTRICTIONS, SHORT-TERM PARKING PLACES, BUS STOP CLEARWAYS AND BUS STANDS IMPLEMENTATION AND/OR AMENDMENTS

Further information may be obtained by telephoning Traffic and Parking Services, telephone No 020 8379 3547. 1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield has made: (a) the Enfield (Restriction of Waiting on Bus Stops) (Special Parking Area) (No 1, 1997) (Amendment No 35) Traffic Order 2003; (b) the Enfield (Restriction of Waiting on Bus Stands) (Special Parking Area) (No 1, 1997) (Amendment No 4) Traffic Order 2003; (c) the Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) (Amendment No 200 ) Order 2003; (d) the Enfield (Short Term Parking Places) (Various Roads, Edmonton) (Special Parking Area) (No 1) Order 2003; (e) the Enfield (Free Parking Places) (Special Parking Area) (No 1) Order 2003; and (f) the Enfield (Goods Vehicles Loading Bays) (Special Parking Area) (No 1) Order 2003; under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Orders will be to: (a) designate bus stop clearways to operate 24 hours a day in Baker Street, Enfield, Bounces Road, Church Street, Edmonton, Lancaster Road, Lavender Hill, Pickett’s Lock Lane, The Ridgeway and Silver Street, Enfield. Note: certain existing bus stop clearways in these streets will either be revoked and re-enacted over different lengths and/or the times of operation changed to operate at any time; (b) designate bus stand clearways to operate 24 hours a day in Palmers Lane and The Ridgeway, Enfield. Note: the bus stand in Palmers Lane is part of improvments to bus route 279; (c) designate goods vehicle loading bays in Chester Road and Gordon Road where goods vehicles may be left for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.30 pm on Monday to Saturdays, provided that continuous loading or unloading is taking place. (d) introduce new “at any time” waiting restrictions in certain lengths of Hunters Way, Lavender Hill and Lancaster Road and 8.00 am to 6.30 pm on Mondays to Saturdays waiting restrictions in a certain length of Lavender Hill; and (e) amend the length of certain existing short-term parking places in Baker Street, Enfield (the east side, opposite Monastery Gardens) and Church Street, Edmonton (the north side, between Lion Road and Cedars Road), to accommodate adjoining bus stop relocations. 3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 31 March 2003, of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and other relevant documents can be inspected at the Reception desk, “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made. 4. Copies of the Orders may be obtained from Traffic and Parking Services, The Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD. 5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
