HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 116
STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAY, PARTS OF RIBBLE STREET, SAVOY STREET, RED CROSS STREET, BIRK STREET, KAY STREET AND NUTTER ROAD, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY
Notice is hereby given that the Lancashire County Council, being the Highway Authority,
intend to apply to the Magistrates Court sitting at Lawson Street, Preston, on Wednesday
2 April 2003, at 10.30 am, for an Order authorising the stopping-up of the following
lengths of highway to the rear of County Hall, Preston:
(a) Ribble Street, a length of approximately 40 metres;
(b) Savoy Street, a length of approximately 120 metres;
(c) Red Cross Street, a length of approximately 55 metres;
(d) Birk Street, a length of approximately 55 metres;
(e) Kay Street, a length of approximately 18 metres;
(f) Nutter Road, a length of approximately 12 metres.
Pedestrian access between Nutter Road and Pitt Street will be retained.
A copy of the map showing the proposal may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable
hours, at my offices, and at the offices of the Preston City Council, Town Hall, Preston,
until the date of the Hearing.
On the Hearing of the application, any person who uses the highways proposed to be
stopped up, and any person who would be aggrieved by the Order applied for, shall
have the right to be heard.
