THE A646 TRUNK ROAD (BURNLEY ROAD, LUDDENDENFOOT) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he intends to make an Order under sections 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) and 4(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Order if made as proposed would prohibit waiting at any time on any day on the followng lengths of Trunk Road:
(i) the south west side of the A646 Trunk Road (Burnley Road, Luddendenfoot), from a point 10 metres east of the centre line of the junction with Rose Place to a point 10 metres west of the junction with Rose Place, and
(ii) the south west side of the A646 Trunk Road (Burnley Road, Luddendenfoot), from a point 33 metres west of the centre line of the junction with Rose Place to a point 58 metres west of tte centre line of the junction with Rose Place. Exceptions have been provided in the Order to enable a vehicle to be used:

in connection with any building operation or demolition; for the removal of any obstruction to traffic;
for the maintenance of the road or services therein
for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes;
by a local authority or water company in pursuance of their respective statutory powers or duties;
a bus waiting in a bus stop area, or entering a layby in which there is a bus stop area.
or, when the person in control of the vehicle is required to stop:
by law;
in order to avoid an accident;
due to circumstances outside the person’s control.

A copy of the proposed Order, a plan illustrating the proposals and a statement of reasons explaining the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at Luddendenfoot Post Office, Victoria Buildings, Burnley Road, Luddendenfoot, Halifax HA2 6AA; or may be seen at or obtained by application to the Director, Operations Divison (North), Room 810, Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE.
Any person who desires to object to the Secretary of State’s proposals to make this Order should send a written statement of their objections and the grounds thereof to the Director’s address given above quoting Ref HA 41/5/67. This statement should arrive no later than Friday 21 February 2003.
