BOUNDARY COMMISSION FOR WALES

The Deputy Prime Minister has received from the Boundary Commission for Wales notice in writing as follows: We beg to inform you that the Boundary Commission for Wales intend, in pursuance of the Parliamentary Constituences Act 1986, as amended by the Boundary Commissions Act 1992, to commence a general review of constituences in Wales based upon the number of electors on the electoral register at 16 December 2002. The review will include consideration of proposals for the Assembly electoral regions as required by the Government of Wales Act 1998. The Commission are required to submit a report of their review not less than eight or more than twelve years from their last report on a general review. The previous report was submitted on 16 December 1994. The next report must therefore be submitted between 17 December 2002 and 16 December 2006.
