NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Notice is hereby given that an application is being made to the Environment Agency, Thames Region by Thames Water Utilities Ltd, Clearwater Court, Vastern Road, Reading, Berkshire RG1 8DB, for a licence to abstract water from underground strata (chalk), at Iver South STW, Berkshire (National Grid Ref TQ 03526 78116). The application is for 365,000 cubic metres per year, 1,400 cubic metres per day and 60 cubic metres per hour. The water will be used initially during the construction process and subsequently for industrial use at Iver South STW. A copy of the application and of any map, plan or other document submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at Langley Library, Trelawney Avenue, Langley, Slough SL3 7US, at all reasonable hours during the period beginning on Friday 13 December 2002 and ending on Monday 13 January 2003 (NB the Library is closed on Mondays). Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Water Resources Officer, Environment Agency—Thames Region, Apollo Court, 2 Bishops Square Business Park, St Albans Road West, Hatfield, Hertfordshire AL10 9EX, before the end of the said period.
