NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Notice is hereby given that an application is being made to the Environment Agency by Severn Trent Water Limited, of 2297 Coventry Road, Birmingham B26 3PU, for a variation to licence number 18/54/03/129 (Ruyton and Nesscliffe) to abstract from boreholes in the Sherwood Sandstone for public water supply purposes. The current licence permits abstractions of 1,219,300 gallons (5,543 cubic metres) per day and 427,050,000 gallons (1,941,369 cubic metres) per annum from underground strata at Ruyton-XI-Towns, Nesscliffe, Sleap and Harmer Hill, in Shropshire, by means of two boreholes at Ruyton at SJ 390 218, two boreholes at Nesscliffe at SJ 377 188, one borehole at Sleap at SJ 488 247 and one borehole at Harmer Hill at SJ 490 223. The variation being applied for is to (i) Increase the permitted daily quantities for abstraction from 1,219,300 gallons (5,543 cubic metres) to 7,300 cubic metres (ii) Remove the reference on the licence to the pump capacity of 65,220 gallons per hour (iii) Remove reference on the licence to the sources at Sleap and Harmer Hill A copy of the application and of any maps, plans or other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at Ruyton Post Office, Church Street, Ruyton-XI-Towns, Shropshire, at all reasonable hours during the period beginning on 17 June 2002 and ending on 17 July 2002.
