ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A12 TRUNK ROAD (MARKS TEY, ESSEX) (PROHIBITION OF “U” TURNS) ORDER 2002
The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order, under sections 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A12 Trunk Road (known as London Road) at Marks Tey in Essex. The effect of the Order, which will come into force on 28 March 2002, will be to prohibit any vehicle (other than those being used for fire brigade, ambulance and police purposes) from making “U” turns: (a) from the northbound carriageway to the southbound carriageway; or (b) from the southbound carriageway to the northbound carriageway; through the gaps in the central reservation opposite Andersons Timber Factory and Damyon’s Farm. Any person wishing to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in, the Order, on the ground that it is not within the powers with respect to the Order conferred by the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of, or of any Instrument made under, any provision of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of 14 March 2002, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. A copy of the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at the offices of Feering Parish Council, Feering Community Centre, Coggeshall Road, Ferring, Essex CO5 9QB; Braintree District Council, Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex CM7 9HB; or obtained by application to the Highways Agency, Operations Division PPD Orders Team, Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL, quoting Ref HA 41/7/103.
