TRANSFER OF STAFF AND PROPERTY FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM CENTRAL COUNCIL FOR NURSING, MIDWIFERY AND HEALTH VISITING AND THE NATIONAL BOARDS FOR NURSING, MIDWIFERY AND HEALTH VISITING
THE NURSING AND MIDWIFERY ORDER 2001 (SI 2002, NO 253)

In accordance with Article 1(2) and (3) of the Nursing and Midwifery Order 2001, the Department of Health hereby gives notice that the Secretary of State for Health has specified 22 March 2002, as the day for the coming into force of: (a) (i) Article 54(1) and (2) of, and paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 8 of Schedule 2 to, the Order, and (ii) in Schedule 4 to the Order, the definitions of: “the 1997 Act”; “alternate member”; “corresponding practitioner member”; “the Council”; “lay member”; and “United Kingdom country”, for the purposes of consultation and appointment of Council members and the first President of the Council by the Privy Council; and (b) Article 54(1) and (2) of, and paragraphs 20, 21, 23 and 25 of Schedule 2 to, the Order for the purposes of the making by the Privy Council of orders under paragraphs 20 and 21 of Schedue 2.
