NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT TO DISCHARGE
Notice is given, as required by Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991, that
the following applications have been made to the Environment Agency, South West Region.
Wessex Water have applied for consent to discharge from three new pumping stations
which will be part of the first time sewerage scheme being progressed in the parishes
of Blagdon Hill and Pitminster, Somerset. These pumping stations will collect and
transfer sewage flows for treatment, helping to alleviate pollution problems in the
area. The proposed pumping stations will only discharge under emergency conditions
and only after the storage provided at the pumping stations has been fully utilised.
These emergency conditions will only occur during prolonged unavoidable mechanical
or electrical failure of the pumping station. The existing sewage treatment works
at Littleham Cottages will be closed as part of this scheme.

Details of the application are contained in the Register held by the Agency in its office at Rivers House, East Quay, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 4YS, and may be inspected, free of charge, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday inclusive.
