THE HARINGEY (BUS PRIORITY) (AMENDMENT NO 30) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC ORDER 2002

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey, hereinafter called the Council on 28 February 2002, made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2. The general effect of the Haringey (Bus Priority) (Amendment No. 30) Experimental Traffic Order 2002 would be to further amend the Haringey (Bus Priority) (No 1) Traffic Order 2000 so as to prohibit unauthorised vehicles from being in the bus lane specified in the Schedule below.

Details of exemptions for certain vehicles and persons are contained in the original Order of 2000.

3. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 1 March 2002, of the above-mentioned Order of 2000 (and Orders which have previously amended that Order, where applicable), of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and a plan showing the locations and effects of the Order may be inspected during a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, during normal office working hours at,Hornsey Town Hall, The Broadway, Crouch End, Hornsey N8.

4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Traffic Management Section on 020 8489 1326 and copies of the Order may be obtained from the Traffic Management Section, Room 112, Hornsey Town Hall, The Broadway, Crouch End, Hornsey, London N8 9JJ.
5. The Order provides that in pursuance of Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Borough Engineer and Surveyor of the London Borough of Haringey, or some person authorised in that behalf by him, may if it appears to him or that person, essential in the interests of the expeditions, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Order runs, modify or suspend the Order or any provision thereof.
6. If the provisions of the Order continue in operation for a period of not less than 12 months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be reproduced and continue in force indefinitely by means of an Order under section 6 of the said Act of 1984. Persons desiring to object to the making of the Order under section 6 of the said Act of 1984 for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within the aforementioned period of 12 months (ie by 7 March 2003) send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds of that objection to the Traffic Management Section, Room 112, Hornsey Town Hall, The Broadway, Crouch End, London N8 9JJ.
7. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the making of the Order, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
