PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that IQE (Europe) Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving an halogen process (prescribed in Chapter 4, Section 4.2 Part A(1), paragraph (b) of Schedule 1 to the above-mentioned Regulations) at Beech House, Cypress Drive, St. Mellons, Cardiff CF3 0LW, in the City and County of Cardiff. The facility is a semiconductor fabrication plant manufacturing conventional silicon wafers by epitaxial deposition. The application documentation contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment. Information relating to the above application for an IPPC permit to operate the process is held in registers at The Environment Agency Wales, Area Office, Abacus House, St. Mellons Business Park, St. Mellons, Cardiff CF3 0EY; and Pollution Control Division, Environmental Protection, Cardiff County Council, Wood Street, Cardiff CF1 1NQ. Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying. Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at The Environment Agency Wales, Area Office, Abacus House, St. Mellons Business Park, St. Mellons, Cardiff CF3 0EY, within 28 days from the date of this public notice. Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not so be placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a representation that was subject to such a request.
