THE A616 TRUNK ROAD (LANGSETT TO MIDHOPESTONES) (40 MILES PER HOUR AND 50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2000 VARIATION ORDER 200 

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he intends to make an Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A616 Trunk Road between Langsett and Midhopestones in the county of South Yorkshire. The effect of the Order would be to impose: 1. A 40 miles per hour speed limit on the A616: ( a) from a point 151 metres west of its junction with Gilbert Hill Lane to a point 180 metres east of its junction with the access to the water works at Langsett; and (b) from a point 147 metres west of its junction with Mortimer Road to a point 300 metres east of that junction. 2. A 50 miles per hour speed limit on the A616: (a) from a point 717 metres west of its junction with Gilbert Hill Lane to a point 151 metres west of that junction: (b) from a point 180 metres east of its junction with the access to the water works at Langsett to a point 147 metres west of its junction with Mortimer Road; and (c) from a point 300 metres east of its junction with Mortimer Road to a point 155 metres west of its junction with the access to Stockbridge Wire Mill. by varying the Order made in July 2000 which incorrectly described one of the lengths of the A616. A copy of the draft Order, together with a copy of the order to be varied, plans illustrating the proposals and a statement of the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during opening hours at Stocksbridge Town Council, Town Hall, Stocksbridge, Sheffield S36 2DT; Stocksbridge Library, Manchester Road, Stocksbridge, Sheffield S36 1DH, or may be seen at, or obtained by application to, the Highways Agency, Project Services Secretariat, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL, during normal office hours. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to Karen Eustace at the Highways Agency at the address given above.
