NOTICE OF DEPOSIT OF PROPOSALS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A LOCAL PLAN
WEYMOUTH AND PORTLAND LOCAL PLAN REVIEW FIRST DEPOSIT 2001.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council has prepared proposals for the replacement of the Weymouth and Portland Local Plan. If, and when, this plan is adopted it will form part of the development plan for the area of Weymouth and Portland. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting that area. Copies of the plan are available for public inspection, free of charge, at The Council Offices, North Quay, Weymouth, and The Portland Area Office, Fortuneswell, Portland, and all public libraries in the Borough. The plan can be inspected during the following hours: Weymouth Office 8.45 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. (Monday to Friday), Portland Office 9.30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Tuesday to Thursday) and at public libraries in Weymouth and Portland during normal opening hours. Objections to, and representations in respect of, the plan should be sent in writing, before Tuesday, 13th March 2001, to Mr. R. J. Burgess, Director of Environmental Services, Environmental Services Department, Council Offices, North Quay, Weymouth, Dorset DT4 8TA, by fax to (01305 766773, or by E-mail to LocalPlanreps@wpbc.weymouth.gov.uk. Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the plan. Only objectors whose objections are made in writing and arrive at the address specified above within the 8 week period ending on Tuesday, 13th March 2001, will have a right to have their objections considered at a Local Plan Inquiry. Notice of Intention to Adopt Proposals If no objections to the plan are received during the period given for making objections Weymouth and Portland Borough Council intend to adopt the plan on the expiry of that period.
