NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO MAKE A TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Southwark proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, and of all other powers thereunto. The general effect of this Order will be, that due to a weak bridge and in the interest of public safety, to restrict vehicles with a gross weight in excess of 17 tonne from proceeding across the Red Post Hill Railway Bridge, situated approximately 20 metres south-east of Half Moon Lane. The alternative route is Half Moon Lane and Village Way as applicable. Nothing in this notice shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable or traffic warden in uniform. The restrictions will be in force in accordance with the traffic signs displayed. Copies of the proposed Order, plans and a statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive during normal office hours for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, at Southwark Regeneration and Environment Department, Council Offices, Chiltern House, Portland Street, London SE17 2ES.
