Highways Agency


The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order, under sections 1(1), 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A417 Trunk Road at Burdlip Hill near the Air Balloon Roundabout in the district of Cotswold in the county of Gloucestershire. The effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles proceeding out of the car park of the Air Balloon Public House from turning right into the A417 Trunk Road. A copy of the draft Order, a plan illustrating the proposal, the alternative route available and a statement explaining why the Secretary of State proposes to make the Order, may be inspected, during office hours, at the offices of Gloucestershire County Council, Shire Hall, Bearland, Gloucester GL1 2TH, Brockworth Library, Moorfield Road, Brockworth, Gloucester GL3 4EX, and Birdlip Stores (Post Office), Birdlip, Gloucester GL4 8JH. Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposal should send, no later than 12th February 2001, a written statement of his or her objection specifying the grounds on which it is made to the Highways Agency, Project Services Operations (South West), Room 414, Tollgate House, Houlton Street, Bristol BS2 9DJ, quoting Ref. HA 041/029/90.
