THE STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAYS (LANE TO THE REAR OF THE LYNX HOTEL, NEWPORT ROAD, CARDIFF) ORDER 2001

The Minister for Environment hereby gives notice that she has made an Order, under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, to authorise the stopping-up of the section of highway described in the Schedule to this notice. The stopping-up is authorised only in order to enable development consisting of the erection of 1.9 metre high gates and fence to enclose the lane at the rear of the properties known as 385-385 a Newport Road, Cardiff, to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted by Cardiff County Council, on 15th October 1999, under Ref. 99/01092/R. The Order shall cease to have effect upon the cessation of the planning permission. Copies of the Order and the deposited plan may be inspected, free of charge, at the offices of Cardiff County Council, County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff CF1 5UW, during normal office hours or may be obtained, free of charge, from the National Assembly for Wales, Transport Directorate, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NQ (quoting Ref. CZ 510-5-71-39). If any person desires to question the validity of the Order, or of any of the provisions contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990; or that his or her interests have been substantially prejudiced by a failure to comply with any of the requirements of the Act, that person may, within 6 weeks of 19th January 2001, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. Burnell, Roads Administration Division Schedule Description of the section of highway to be stopped up under this Order (All measurements are approximate) The section of highway to be stopped up and shown by zebra hatching on the deposited plan comprises a lane to the rear of the properties 385-385 a Newport Road and the Lynx Hotel, with a maximum width of 3.83 metres and maximum length of 22.27 metres and total area of 85.43 metres.
