THE A47 TRUNK ROAD (LEICESTER TO A1) (DETRUNKING) ORDER 200

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make the following Order: An Order under sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980 which will provide that the length of the A47 Trunk Road, between the boundary of the City of Leicester at Thurnby, and the junction with the A1 Trunk Road at Wansford, in the district of Peterborough, in the county of Cambridgeshire, shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road, as from the date on which the Order comes into force. Copies of the draft Order and the plans referred to in it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours, at the Highways Agency, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE; at the offices of the Director, Network & Customer Services (Midlands), the Highways Agency, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL, and at the offices of Leicestershire County Council, Department of Planning and Transportation, County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8RJ; the offices of Rutland County Council, Catmose, Oakham, Rutland LE15 6HP; the offices of Northamptonshire County Council, Strategic Director of Environment, County Hall, Northampton NN1 1AX; and at the offices of Peterborough City Council, Environmental Services, Bridge House, Town Bridge, Peterborough PE1 1HB. Any person may object to the making of this Order not later than 1st March 2001, or within 6 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, by notice to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Director, Network & Customer Services (Midlands), the Highways Agency, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL, quoting Ref. HA 008/001/000086, and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
