RELATING TO THE 157 BUS ROUTE WRYTHE LANE, WRYTHE GREEN ROAD, GREEN WRYTHE LANE, NORTH STREET, PARK LANE, PARKGATE ROAD, MANOR ROAD, WOODCOTE ROAD AND STAFFORD ROAD

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 7(1) and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The principal objectives of these Orders are to introduce new and to extend existing bus stop clearways in order to ensure that buses are able to gain full access to the bus stop thereby providing safer boarding and alighting conditions for passengers. The general effect of The Sutton (Bus Stops) (Bus Stop Clearway) (No.  ) (Amendment No.  ) Order 200  will be to: (a) introduce bus stop clearways to operate “at any time” which will prohibit stopping of all vehicles except buses and taxis for the purposes of setting down and picking up passengers, or for operational reasons, at the bus stops in the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; (b) extend the limits of the existing bus stop clearways (with restrictions and exemptions as (a) above) to the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice, and alter their hours of operation from “between 7 a.m. and midnight throughout the week” to “at any time”; and (c) alter the hours of operation at existing bus stop clearways (with restrictions and exemptions as (a) above) from “between 7 a.m. and midnight throughout the week” to “at any time” as set out in Schedule 3 to this notice. (Ref. BS226.) The general effect of The Sutton (Free Parking) (Limited Time) (No.  ) (Amendment No.  ) Order 200  will be to reduce the length of a parking place on the east side of Woodcote Road (outside Nos. 41 and 43 Woodcote Road) by 6 metres to allow the adjacent bus stop clearway specified in Schedule 2 to be lengthened. (Ref. FR298.)
