NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that R R Waterer & Co, of Wyvols Court Farm, Swallowfield, Reading, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from the River Loddon (near Sheepbridge) at National Grid Ref. SU 4716 1649, at Wyvols Court Farm, Swallowfield, Reading, Berkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 720 cubic metres per hour, 17,280 cubic metres per day and 6.3 million cubic metres per year between 1st January and 31st December each year. The water will be used to provide ecological biodiversity and landscape enhancements to the flood plain. Abstracted water is to be conveyed through a parallel side channel to allow periodic flooding before returning to the main river Loddon channel. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Wyvols Court Farm, Swallowfield, Reading, between 20th January 2001 and 28th February 2001. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Thames Region, Swift House, Frimley Business Park, Frimley, Camberley, Surrey GU16 5SQ, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
