NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Innogy Plc, Windmill Hill Business Park, Whitehill Way, Swindon SN5 6PB, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from Southampton Water at National Grid Ref. SU 4764 0221 at Fawley Power Station, Fawley, Southampton, Hampshire SO45 1TW.
The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 126,000 cubic metres per hour, 3,024,000 cubic metres per day, 1,104 million cubic metres per year, between 1st January and 31st December each year. The water will be used for industrial non-evaporative cooling. All of the water will be returned to Stanswood Bay.
A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Fawley Power Station, Fawley, Southampton SO45 1TW, between 1st February 2001 and 1st March 2001.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Guildbourne House, Chatsworth Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 1LD, before the end of the said period.
