NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Environment Act 1995), that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Yorkshire Water Services, at 2 The Embankment, Sovereign Street, Leeds LS1 4BG, for a variation to the existing consent to discharge from Naburn Sewage Treatment Works, Fulford, York, into the River Ouse at National Grid Ref. SE 6002 4674. The variation to the consent is to include the discharge of sewage effluent in an emergency. Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Coverdale House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York YO30 4GZ, for the attention of Mr. R. Midgley, quoting Ref. 27/24/0124, not later than 23rd February 2001. A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the local Environment Agency office at Coverdale House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York YO30 4GZ, on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. up to 23rd February 2001. The Environment Agency is committed to maintaining and, where possible, improving water quality. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interested parties, it is decided that consent can be given, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that the effluent receives treatment before discharge to the receiving waters so that the above aims are met.
