THE STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAYS (LAND AT ROGERSTONE, NEWPORT) ORDER 200 

The Minister for Environment hereby gives notice that she proposes to make an Order, under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, to authorise the stopping-up of the sections of highway described in the Schedule to this notice. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable development consisting of a new foodstore with petrol filling station and associated car parking at Rogerstone, Newport, to be carried out in accordance with planning permissions granted by Newport County Borough Council on 7th April 1997, under Ref. 96/0752/RE and on 28th June 2000, under Ref. 00/0366. The proposed Order will cease to have effect upon the cessation of the planning permission. During the 28 days from 12th January 2001, copies of the draft Order and the deposited plan may be inspected, free of charge, at the offices of Newport County Borough Council, Highways Transportation and Planning Department, Civic Centre, Newport NP20 4UR, during normal office hours or may be obtained, free of charge, from the address below quoting the National Assembly for Wales reference. Within the above-mentioned period of 28 days, any person may, by notice to the National Assembly for Wales, Transport Directorate, RA3, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NQ (quoting CZ510-5-34-7), object to the making of the Order. In the preparation of an objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it. Burnell, Roads Administration Division Schedule (All measurements are approximate) Description of the sections of highway to be stopped up under this Order 1. An irregular shaped area of highway known as Azalea Road, which extends along the southern kerb-line from the junction (roundabout) of Azalea Road and Meadowland Drive, westwards for a distance of 110 metres to the Customer access road, with a maximum width of 8.5 metres and total area of 900 square metres. 2. An irregular shaped area of highway known as Azalea Road, which extends along the southern kerb-line from the Customer access road, westwards for a distance of 50 metres to the Service access road, with a maximum width of 8 metres and total area of 350 square metres.
