PROPOSED PROVISION OF PELICAN PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS—HINDHEAD ROAD, SHOTTERMILL, HASLEMERE AND LOWER STREET, HASLEMERE

Notice is hereby given that the Surrey County Council, in exercise of their powers under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with section 23(2)(A) of the said Act of 1984 and having notified the Secretary of State in writing, propose to establish: (a) a pelican pedestrian crossing on Hindhead Road, Shottermill, between Junction Place and Church Road, Shottermill, Haslemere; (b) a pelican pedestrian crossing on Lower Street, Haslemere between Haslemere Railway Station and Tanners Lane, to be indicated in the manner prescribed by regulations having effect under section 25 of the said Act of 1984. The proposed pelican pedestrian crossings would replace the existing zebra pedestrian crossings in Hindhead Road, Shottermill, Haslemere and Lower Street, Haslemere. A copy of a plan showing the location of the proposed pelican pedestrian crossings may be inspected at the Waverley Borough Council Locality Centre, Lion Green, Haslemere, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and at Haslemere Branch Library, 91 Wey Hill, Haslemere, during normal opening hours. If you wish to make representations about the proposal you must send them in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made, to the undersigned by 2nd February 2001, quoting Ref. 4304/AK. C. M.
