THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (RANBY, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE) (CLOSURE OF GAPS IN THE CENTRAL RESERVATION AND PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURNS) ORDER 2001

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order, under sections 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on a length of the A1 Trunk Road at Ranby in Nottinghamshire. The effect of the Order will be to: 1. close the gaps in the central reservation opposite: (i) the slip road to Old Blyth Road, Ranby, (ii) Thievesdale Lane, Ranby, (iii) the road leading from the A1 to Old London Road, Barnby Moor, or (iv) the road leading from the A1 to Bilby Farm; and 2. prohibit left turns from the southbound carriageway into the slip road to Old Blyth Road, Ranby. Exemptions to the gap closures and left turn ban will be provided for cyclists and horse riders. Emergency vehicles will be exempt from the left turn ban. A copy of the Order, together with a plan illustrating the proposals and a statement of the Secretary of State’s reasons for making the Order, may be inspected, during normal opening hours, at the offices of Bassetlaw District Council, Queens Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire; at the Public Library, Churchgate, East Retford, Nottinghamshire; or obtained by application to Karen Eustace at the Highways Agency, 5 Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL, quoting Ref. HA 41/29/61. Any person wishing to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the Order on the ground that is is not within the powers with respect to the Order conferred by the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of, or of any Instrument made under, any provision of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of 12th January 2001, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
