NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that G C Field & Sons, of Nook Farm, Little Stukeley, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE28 4BA, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 6/33/53/S/479, which authorises the abstraction of water from the North Western Cut, Bevills Leam and drains of the Whittlesey Internal Drainage Board and the Ramsey 4th IDB at Tebbitts Bridge Farm, Farcet parish for spray irrigation purposes. The variations being applied for are to increase the rates of abstraction to 284.3 cubic metres per hour, 4,185.2 cubic metres per day, 163,092 cubic metres between April and October each year, to include additional land on which the water may be used, and include further abstraction points on the River Nene (Old Course), Great Raveley Drain and drains in the area of the Ramsey, Upwood and Great Raveley IDB at Uggmere Farm and Wellington House Farm, Ramsey parish, the River Nene (Old Course) and drains in the area of the Holmewood and Stilton IDB at Chalderbeach Farm, Holme parish, the North Western Cut, Bevills Leam and drains in the area of the Holmewood and Stilton IDB at Iron House Farm, Farcet parish, drains in the area of the Ramsey 4th IDB at Letall Farm, at National Grid Ref. TL 260 896, between TL 258 900 and TL 261 899, TL 262 895 and TL 264 894, TL 257 890 and TL 259 889, TL 261 889 and TL 262 889, Ramsey parish, the River Nene (Old Course) between TL 216 953 and TL 218 954 and drains in the area of the Whittlesey IDB between TL 213 948 and TL 213 945, Farcet parish, Kings Dyke between TL 250 964 and TL 252 965 and drains in the area of the Whittlesey IDB at Black Bush Reach Farm, Whittlesey parish, Cambridgeshire. The additional abstraction will be supported by compensatory discharges from Must Farm Pit into Kings Dyke and summer water resources will be unaffected. A copy of the application and any map, plan or other document submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at 335 Herne Road, Ramsey St. Marys, Huntingdon, between 12th January 2001 and 9th February 2001.
