THE BROMLEY (BUS STOP CLEARWAY) (NO. 2) ORDER 1997 (AMENDMENT) (NO. 12) ORDER 2001

BRACKLEY ROAD/COPERS COPE ROAD, BECKENHAM

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bromley proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under the provisions of sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of, and Part I of Schedule 5 to, the Local Government Act 1985, Schedules 6 and 7 of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers thereunto enabling. The general effect of the Scheme will be to improve bus services in the Borough by introducing “At any time” bus stop clearway restrictions along Brackley Road and Copers Cope Road, Beckenham. This will prevent vehicles (except buses) stopping at bus stops to ensure that buses can pull up close to the kerb, particularly to assist less mobile passengers alighting or boarding at these stops. A copy of the draft Order, of the Order being amended and of the statement of reasons can be inspected, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until 31st January 2001, at the Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objections and the grounds thereof to the Director of Environmental Services, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH, quoting Ref. ADE(TP)CC/T100/333, not later than 31st January 2001. Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that under the provisions of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985 any comments received in response to this notice may be open to public inspection.
