INCLUSION OF ROSAMUND CLOSE IN THE CROYDON (SOUTH) CONTROL PARKING ZONE

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make The Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. B57) Order 2001 and The Croydon (South) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1993 (Amendment No. B56) Traffic Order 2001, under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of The Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. B57) Order 2001 would be to further amend The Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 2000 so that waiting by vehicles would be prohibited between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday to Saturdays inclusive in Rosamund Close. 3. The general effect of The Croydon (South) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1993 (Amendment No. B56) Traffic Order 2001, would be to include Rosamund Close in the Croydon (South) Controlled Parking Zone. 4. The prohibition referred to in paragraph 2 above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g. the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. 5. A copy of the proposed Orders, of The Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 2000, The Croydon (South) Parking Places (No. 1) Order 1993 (and of the Orders which have amended those Orders), of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, and of a map which indicates the road to which the proposed restrictions relate can be inspected, until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey. 6. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Public Services and Works Department, London Borough of Croydon on 020-8686 4433, extension 4905. 7. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Public Services & Works Department, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon CR9 3RN, quoting Ref. T&P/PS/JAA/7/B56/B57, by 7th February 2001. 8. The Councillors for this Ward are Bob Coatman, Pat Knight and Michael Wunn. 9. The proposed Order is intended to include Rosamund Close, South Croydon in the Croydon (South) Controlled Parking Zone and introduce waiting restrictions between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in that street to bring it into line with restricitons in the surrounding area.
