NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO MAKE A TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (RED POST HILL AND HALF MOON LANE RESTRICTION OF VEHICLES AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) ORDER 2001-2002

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Southwark propose to make the above-mentioned Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, and of all other powers thereunto. The general effect of this Order will be, that due to a weak bridge and in the interest of public safety, to restrict vehicles with a gross weight in excess of 7.5 tonnes from proceeding across the Red Post Hill Railway Bridge, situated approximately 20 metres south-east of Half Moon Lane. The alternative route is Half Moon Lane and Village Way. To prevent obstruction to vehicles on the alternative route, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load, at any time on (i) Half Moon Lane (both sides) from its junction with Red Post Hill south-west for a distance of 10 metres, (ii) The south-east side of Red Post Hill north-west and south-east of its junction with Half Moon Lane for a distance of 10 metres. Nothing in this notice shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable or traffic warden in uniform. The restrictions will be in force in accordance with the traffic signs displayed. Copies of the proposed Order, plans and a statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive during normal office hours for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, at Southwark Regeneration and Environment Department, Council Offices, Chiltern House, Portland Street, London SE17 2ES.
