ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A428 TRUNK ROAD (GOLDINGTON ROAD, BEDFORD) (50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2001
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he has made an Order, under sections 84(1) and (2) of, and paragraph 27(1)
of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on a length of the A428 Trunk
Road (Goldington Road) in Bedford.
The effect of the Order, which will come into force on 16th January 2001, will be
to impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit on the trunk road between points 212 metres
east of its junction with Bury Walk and 211 metres east of its junction with Norse
Road, a distance of 1,021 metres, and vary The Trunk Road (A428) (Bedfordshire) (Various
Roads) (De-Restriction) Order 1992.
A copy of the Order and the Order varied may be inspected, during normal office hours,
at the offices of Thorburn Colquhoun, 200 Harpur Centre, Horne Lane, Bedford; Bedford
Borough Council, Town Hall, St. Paul’s Square, Bedford; or obtained by application
to the Highways Agency, Project Services Secretariat, Heron House, 49-53 Goldington
Road, Bedford MK40 3LL, quoting Ref. HA 28/3/34.
