NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that J. S. Kirby of Grange Farm, Little Dunmow, Essex, is applying to
the Environment Agency to vary licence serial numbers:
1. 8/37/35/102 which authorises the impounding of a tributary of the River Chelmer
at Great Dunmow, National Grid Ref. TL 635 224 and the abstraction of water from the
river and tributaries thereof at National Gid Ref. TL 635 224, TL 637 217, TL 645
206 and TL 649 205 for filling reservoirs/spray irrigation.
2. 8/37/35/107 which authorises the impounding of a tributary of the River Chelmer
and abstraction therefrom at Little Dunmow, National Grid Ref. TL 648 212 and TL 648
210 for filling reservoirs/spray irrigation.
The variations being applied for:
1. Licence 8/37/35/102:
(a) to include an additional stretch of river for abstracting between National Grid
Refs. TL 646 206 and TL 662 202;
(b) to increase the licensed quantity by 22,700 cubic metres per annum and 2,678
cubic metres per day between May and September inclusive, between the National Grid
Refs. in (a) above. Water may only be abstracted whilst an identical quantity of water
is discharged at the same time and rate from reservoirs at National Grid Refs. TL
648 212 and TL 648 210 under licence number 8/37/35/107 for spray irrigation.
2. Increase the area of land to be irrigated under both licences.
A copy of the application, a map, plans and other documents submitted with them may
be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours, at Grange Farm, Little Dunmow,
Essex CM6 3HY, between 7th December 2000 and 3rd January 2001.
Any persons who wishes to make representations about the applications should do so
in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk,
before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
