PROPOSED STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAYS AT ST. NICHOLAS PLACE, PIER HEAD, LIVERPOOL
Notice is hereby given that a local inquiry is to be held in connection with the proposal of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and Regions to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act authorising the stopping-up of a highway at St. Nicholas Place. The proposed Order will also authorise the stopping-up of the footbridge and its re-dedication as a replacement right of way at the Pier Head, Liverpool. If authorised the construction of car marshalling area for use in conjunction with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s ferry services, including covering over of the floating roadway cut and associate works, and new bus, taxi and parking facilities on land at St. Nicholas Place, Liverpool. The inquiry will be held in Lecture Theatre at the Merseyside Maritime Museum, Albert Dock, Liverpool, on Tuesday, 24th October 2000, at 10 a.m., by D. Mellor, an Inspector hereby appointed by the Secretary of State for the purpose.
