PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER SECTION 6 OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT 1990, PART 1
INTEGRATED POLLUTION CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that Firth Rixson Superalloys Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Control (IPC) authorisation to operate an Air melt process at Firth Rixson Superalloys Ltd, Shepley Street, Glossop, Derbyshire SK13 7SA, in the High Peak Borough Council, in the county of Derbyshire.

Process Description
To install 2 by 1 tonne capacity and 1 by 2 tonne capacity electrical induction air melt furnaces for melting non-ferrous alloys and discharge molten alloy into ceramic moulds producing 7 kilogram ingots.

Information relating to the above IPC application for authorisation to operate the air melt process is held in registers at the Environment Agency Regional Office, Richard Fairclough House, Knutsford Road, Warrington WA4 1HG and Environmental Health and Leisure Department, High Peak Borough Council, Town Hall, Buxton, Derbyshire SK17 6EL.
Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the addresses above during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the register can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying.
Any objections or representations to the above IPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency Area Office, Appleton House, 430 Birchwood Boulevard, Birchwood, Warrington WA3 7WD, within 28 days from the date of this public notice.
Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register, unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request. In this case there will be included in the register a statement indicating only that representations have been made which have been the subject the of such a request.
