Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon on 21st August 2000 made Traffic Orders under the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, and the Road Traffic Regulation (Parking) Act 1986. The general effect of the Croydon (On Street Parking Places) (Limited Time) (No. 1) Traffic Order, 2000 would be: (a) to introduce “pay and display” parking places in the lengths of streets specified in the schedule to this notice so that they apply between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Monday to Saturday inclusive; (b) to limit the maximum period for waiting in a parking place to 1 hour, with no return within two hours; (c) to provide that the charge for leaving a vehicle vary from 10p for fifteen minutes up to 40p (maximum) for 1 hour (maximum). The general effect of the Croydon (Free Parking Places) (Limited Time) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1992 (Amendment No. Z23) Traffic Order, 2000 would be: (a) to designate a number of free limited time parking bays in that length of Lower Barn Road, on the north-east side, from the south-eastern flank wall of Nos. 100-118 Lower Barn Road south-eastwards for a distance of 22.40 metres; (b) to provide that the parking place would be in operation between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Monday to Friday inclusive; (a) to specify that the use of the parking place will be restricted to goods vehicles, passenger vehicles, motor cycles or invalid carriages only; (b) with the exception of disabled drivers, to restrict to 20 minutes any one period of waiting in the parking place and to prohibit the return to the same parking place of the same vehicle for a period of one hour; (c) to provide that the parking place may be suspended when necessary to facilitate the carrying out of certain functions such as building or street works, furniture removals, funerals etc. The general effect of the Croydon (North) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1993 (Amendment No. Z25) Traffic Order 2000 would be to amend the Croydon (North) Controlled Parking Zone: (a) to introduce additional 3 “4 hour” shared use/pay and display parking bays in Longley Road; (b) to provide that the regulations of the Croydon (North) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1993 as amended shall apply to the afore-said new parking bays; (c) to provide that the charge for leaving a vehicle will vary from 70p for 1 hour (minimum) to £1.90 for 4 hours (maximum). A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on 29th August 2000 can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the “One Stop” facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey. Copies of the Orders may be obtained from the Traffic and Parking Section, Public Services and Works Department, London Borough of Croydon, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application to the High Court.
