Reigate and Banstead Borough Council

Reigate and Banstead Borough Council has revised the proposals for the alteration of the above Plan. The alteration proposed new policies and changes to existing Local Plan policies, principally to facilitate major new housing development at Horley, and amendments to a number of policies which are relevant throughout the Borough. Following the consultation on the Initial Deposit Draft 1999 some changes are proposed as a result of objections received. The Revised Deposit Draft 2000 clearly indicates the changes that have been made from the initally deposited plan. If and when these proposals are adopted they will form part of the development plan for the Reigate and Banstead Borough Council area. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting the area. Copies of the revised deposit plan are available for public inspection at the Environmental Services Department, Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate, Surrey; Horley Help Shop, Consort Way, Horley, Surrey; and Banstead, Merstham, and Redhill Help Shops, from Wednesday, 23rd August to Tuesday, 3rd October 2000, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. (All the Help Shops are closed until 1 p.m. on Friday, 25th August and Friday, 29th September 2000, and also close early at 4 p.m. every Wednesday). Copies are also available for public inspection at Horley Library, and Redhill, Reigate and Banstead Libraries during normal opening hours. Objections to, and representations in respect of the revised deposit plan should be sent in writing to Michael Crofton Briggs, Head of Local Plans and Transportation, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate, Surrey RH2 0SH, before 5 p.m. on 3rd October 2000. Objections may only be made in respect of those parts of the plan which have been revised since the original proposals were made available on 26th January 2000. They should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the proposals. Only objectors whose objections are made in writing, and which should be on the forms available at those locations where copies of the proposals are available for public inspection, and arrive at the address specified above within the 6 week period ending on 3rd October 2000, will have a right to have their objections considered at the local inquiry. A Pre-Inquiry Meeting will take place at 10 a.m. on 24th October 2000, in the Community Hall, The Keys Youth and Community Centre, Court Lodge Road, Horley. This will deal with the programme and with procedural matters. Further information is available from the Local Plans Team on 01737 276208/276202, or from Pauline Butcher, the Programme Officer on 01737 276769. M.
