NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Innogy, Tilbury Power Station, of Fort Road, Tilbury, Essex RM18 8UJ, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from the River Thames at National Grid Reference TQ 664 753 at Tilbury Power Station, Fort Road, Tilbury, Essex. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 190,000 cubic metres per hour, 4,600,000 cubic metres per day, 1,600 million cubic metres per year (between 1st January and 31st December each year). The water will be used for cooling steam as part of the process of electricity generation. All of the water will be returned to the River Thames. There will be no net reduction of resources from the River Thames. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Tilbury Power Station, Fort Road, Tilbury, between 18th August 2000 and 28th September 2000. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
