NOTICE OF DEPOSIT OF A REVISED MINERALS AND WASTE LOCAL PLAN
SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE MINERALS AND WASTE LOCAL PLAN

South Gloucestershire Council have revised the above plan. If, and when, this revised plan is adopted it will form part of the development plan for the area of South Gloucestershire Council. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting that area. Copies of the revised plan are available for public inspection at South Gloucestershire Council, Planning Reception Desk, The Council Offices, Castle Street, Thornbury BS35 1HF, telephone 01454 888688, South Gloucestershire Council, One Stop Shop, Civic Centre, High Street, Kingswood BS15 9TR, telephone 01454 868686, and South Gloucestershire Council, One Stop Shop, Kennedy Way, Yate BS37 4XB, telephone 01454 865452, free of charge, on Monday to Thursday 8.45 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 8.45 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Objections to, and representations in respect of, the revised plan, should be sent in writing to Acting Director of Planning, Transportation and Environmental Services, South Gloucestershire Council, Civic Centre, High Street, Kingswood, South Gloucestershire BS15 9TR, by 29th September 2000. Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the plan. Objections may only be made in respect of those parts of the plan which have been revised since the original plan was made available on 1st October 1999. Only objectors whose objections are made in writing at the address specified above within the 6 week period ending on 29th September 2000 will have a right to have their objections considered at a local inquiry or other hearing. Notice of intention to Adopt Proposals If no objections to the plan are received during the period given for making objections, South Gloucestershire Council intend to adopt the plan on the expiry of that period. Advice Note Objections have been received to the omission from the Deposit Plan of (a) land south of Chipping Sodbury (Hampstead Farm) Quarry as a Preferred Area for mineral extraction; (b) land south of Wickwar Quarry as a Preferred Area for mineral extraction; and (c) land at Stowick Farm, Hallen as an allocated inert construction and demolition waste landfill site. These proposals are not included within the Revised Deposit Plan. Details of the proposals are contained within the Council’s document “Schedule of Responses to Objections and representations to the Deposit Draft Plan” and may be inspected at the deposit points above. Objections to or representations in support of these proposals should be sent in writing to the Acting Director of Planning, Transportation and Environmental Services before 29th September 2000. R.
