Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley, on 7th August 2000, made the above-mentioned Orders, under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of, and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to, the Local Government Act 1985. The general effect of the Bexley (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. 40) Traffic Order 2000 will be to: (a) designate parking places in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period during the permitted hours without charge in the roads specified in the Schedule to this notice; (b) provide that the parking places will operate at any time throughout the week; (c) specify, in respect of the parking places in the roads in the Schedule, that disabled persons’ vehicles displaying in the relevant position a disabled person’s badge (commonly referred to as “the Orange Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 1982 may be left therein; and (d) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc. The general effect of the Bexley (Abbey Wood) (Parking Places) (Amendment No. 1) will be to amend the Bexley (Abbey Wood) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Traffic Order 2000 so that a parking place in Lanridge Road will be amended to accommodate a disabled persons parking bay. The general effect of the Bexley (Crayford) (Parking Places) (Amendment No. 4) will be to amend the Bexley (Crayford) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1998 so that a parking place in Hill Brow will be amended to accommodate a disabled persons parking bay. The general effect of the Bexley (Sidcup) (Parking Places) (Amendment No. 6) Traffic Order 2000 will be to amend the Bexley (Sidcup) (Parking Places) No. 1 Traffic Order 1994 so that a parking place in Bursden Close, Sidcup will be amended to accommodate a disabled persons parking bay. Copies of the Order which will come into operation on 14th August 2000, the Bexley (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1989, (and of the Orders which have amended that Ordeer), The Bexley (Abbey Wood) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Traffic Order 2000, the Bexley (Sidcup) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1994, the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Orders, and of the maps which indicate each length of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, in The Information Centre, Civic Offices, Broadway, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB. Copies of the Orders may be purchased from the Chief Engineer’s Department, London Borough of Bexley, Room 37, Civic Offices, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
