HIGHWAY AT GLOUCESTER STREET, BIRMINGHAM
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he has made an Order, under section 247 of the above Act, entitled “The
Stopping-up of Highways (City of Birmingham) (No. 12) Order 2000, authorising the
stopping-up of highway at Gloucester Street, Birmingham.
The Order as made, will authorise the stopping-up only to enable the development
described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the
planning permission granted by Birmingham City Council on 23rd March 1999, under Ref.
C/05168/98/FUL.
Copies of this Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government
Office for the West Midlands at the offices of the Director, Local Government Division,
77 Paradise Circus, Queensway, Birmingham B1 2DT (quoting 5104/35/1/159) and may be
inspected, at all reasonable hours, at the Department of Planning and Architecture,
Birmingham City Council, Baskerville House, Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2NA.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof,
or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers
of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder
has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 8th August
2000, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any
provision contained therein.

Demolition of existing buildings and construction of new indoor market, shops and
associated uses and a multi-storey car park, the provision of new surfaces, and other
associated works at Edgbaston Street, Pershore Street, Gloucester Street and Upper
Dean Street, Birmingham.
