COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND AT BAWTRY ROAD AND DENBY WAY, HELLABY, ROTHERHAM, SOUTH YORKSHIRE

Notice is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council (hereinafter called “the Council”) have made the “Rotherham Borough Council (A631 Bawtry Road, Improvement—M18 to Denby Way) Compulsory Purchase Order 2000” under sections 239 and 240 of the Highways Act 1980. The Council submitted this Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions for confirmation and if confirmed the Order will authorise the Council to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the improvement of the highway known as the A631 Bawtry Road, Hellaby, Rotherham, South Yorkshire from a single to a dual carriageway standard for a distance of approximately 270 metres between Junction 1 of the M18 Motorway at Hellaby; the signalised junction of Bawtry Road with Denby Way and Clifford Road being replaced with a roundabout and the priority junction of Bawtry Road with the C9 Cumwell Lane being modified to restrict turning movements to left in and left out only. A copy of the Order and the accompanying map may be seen at all reasonable hours at the Offices of the Head of Legal Services, Personnel and Industrial Relations, Third Floor, Civic Building, Walker Place, Rotherham, free of charge. (Ref. EH). Any objection to the Order must be made in writing to the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Local Authority Orders Section, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD, before 2nd October 2000, and should state the title of the Order and the grounds of objection. Description of Land 1. 110 square metres of land forming part of the access, wall and garden at Long Close adjoining the northern boundary of Bawtry Road shown as Plot 1 on the map accompanying the Order. 2. 48 square metres of land adjoining the northern boundary of Bawtry Road and forming part of the access road to Long Close shown as Plot 2 on the map accompanying the Order. 3. 1961 square metres of grass verge to the north of Bawtry Road and west of Denby Way shown as Plot 3 on the map accompanying the Order. 4. 1,234 square metres of grassed verge to the north of Bawtry Road and east of Denby Way shown as Plot 4 on the map accompanying the Order. 5. 6 square metres of land being the bus shelter area behind the footway to north of Bawtry Road, shown as Plot 5 on the map accompanying the Order.
