NEW ROADS AND STREET WORKS ACT, SECTION 58

NOTICE OF SUBSTANTIAL ROAD WORKS

Three months’ advance notice is hereby given that Suffolk County Council (Highways Authority) intends to carry out substantial works for road purposes. 2. The street in which these works will take place is: A143 Bury St. Edmunds to Scole. 3. Work is expected to affect the carriageway/footway between (a) A1088 (North) junction on Ixworth Bypass and the U6454 Alecocks Grave, Stanton; and (b) B1111 junction, Stanton and C637 junction Snape Hill, Wattisfield 4. Work is expected to commence on: 14th August 2000. 5. The works notified will include the following: 49,800 square metres carriageway resurfacing and 1,500 square metres footway resurfacing. 6. Subject to the exemptions in the Act and regulations under it, no street works may be executed on or after the date given in paragraph 4 above without the consent of the said (Highways Authority) which shall not be unreasonably withheld.
