AMENDMENT TO THE EUROPEAN PHARMACOPOEIA

The Health Ministers, that is to say in respect of England, Scotland and Wales, the Secretary of State concerned with health in England, and in respect of Northern Ireland the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, acting jointly, hereby declare under section 65(7) of the Medicines Act 1968 that on and after 1st July 2000, the revised version of the monograph for Methylthioninium Chloride, adopted by the European Pharmacopoeia Commission on 23rd November 1999, is to have effect for the purposes of section 65 of the said Act in replacement for monograph number 1132, contained in the Third Edition of the European Pharmacopoeia, published under the direction of the Council of Europe (Partial Agreement) in accordance with the Convention on the Elaboration of a European Pharmacopoeia. The said revised monograph for Methylthioninium Chloride has been published in Pharmeuropa, Volume 12, Number 2, April 2000, which is available on subscription from the Technical Secretariat of the European Pharmacopoeia Commission, B.P. 907, 67029 Strasbourg Cedex 1, France.
