DESIGNATION OF THE MILL HILL CLOSE, BALCOMBE ROAD, HAYWARDS HEATH CONSERVATION AREA
Notice is hereby given that at a Meeting of the Central Area Plans Sub-Committee held
on 9th December 1999 the Mid Sussex District Council designated certain land in Haywards
Heath in the county of West Sussex described below and shown in detail on drawing
number HH1 as a Conservation Area.
The Conservation Area comprises the land known as Mill Hill Close, Balcombe Road,
which is situated between Balcombe Road to the west and the railway to the east and
the rear gardens of houses in Old Wickham Lane to the north and a small close of flats
to the south.
A Conservation Area is an area of special architectural or historic interest, the
character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.
In a Conservation Area it is an offence to:
1. demolish certain buildings except with the consent of the Local Planning Authority;
2. cut down, top, lop uproot or wilfully damage or destroy a tree without due notice
being given to the Local Planning Authority.
Copies of the drawing showing the boundaries of the Conservation Area have been deposited
at the Planning and Environmental Services Department, Mid Sussex District Council,
Oaklands, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath and may be inspected, free of charge, by all
interested persons from Monday to Thursday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and
on Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
