WATER RESOURCES ACT 1991, SCHEDULE 10 AS AMENDED BY THE ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Schedule 10 of the above Act that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Severn Trent Water Limited for a variation of the current consent to discharge treated sewage effluent from Shawell Sewage Treatment Works, Lutterworth Road, Shawell. Currently all flows into the sewage treatment works are fully treated. The application is for an additional effluent discharge of screened storm sewage which will be discharged in admixture with the treated sewage effluent at National Grid Reference SP 5461 8047. The discharge of storm sewage will only occur when the rate of flow is in excess of 3 litres per second and the capacity of the flow balancing tank of 7 cubic metres has been exceeded. Flows up to 3 litres per second will be fully treated before being discharged. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Area Consents Officer at the Agency’s offices at Riversmeet House, Newtown Industrial Estate, Northway Lane, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 8JG, during the period 18th November 1999 to 30th December 1999, quoting Ref. WAV/LS/61087. A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Agency’s offices at the above address and at Olton Court, 10 Warwick Road, Olton, Solihull, West Midlands B92 7HX.
