ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A40 TRUNK ROAD (EALING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 199
The Traffic Director for London, following a direction given to him by the Secretary of State under section 58(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and in accordance with regulation 3(5) of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992, hereby gives notice that he intends to make the above-named traffic Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3. 2. The purpose of the order is to enable works to take place on slip roads at the junction of A40 Western Avenue with A312 Church Road (Target Roundabout). 3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in the westbound and eastbound slip roads from A40 Western Avenue to its junction with A312 Church Road (Target Roundabout) at certain times between 8th August 1999 and 31st December 1999. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs specified by regulations or authorised under section 64 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 4. The prohibitions do not apply in respect of: (i) a vehicle being used for the purpose of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes; (ii) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden. 5. At such times as the prohibition is in force alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs via the A4180 West End Road junction with A40 Western Avenue (Polish War Memorial Roundabout), A4180 West End Road/Ruislip Road and A312 Church Road.
