NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO DIVERT HIGHWAY (BYEWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC) AT THE FORMER SHERDLEY COLLIERY SITE, SCORECROSS, ST. HELENS, MERSEYSIDE

Notice is hereby given that St. Helens Metropolitan Borough Council intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Corporation Street, St. Helens, on Tuesday, 29th June 1999, at 2.15 p.m., for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that the highway described in Schedule I hereto be diverted as set out in Schedule II hereto on the ground that the diversion is nearer or more commodious to the public. A plan showing the highway proposed to be diverted and the proposed diversion route may be inspected, free of charge, at my office at the Town Hall, St. Helens, during normal office hours. Any person to whom this notice has been given or who uses the said highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the said Order may attend and be heard on the application. V. Horton, Solicitor to the Council Schedule I Description of Existing Route M-N-P-R Commencing at its junction with Green End Lane (Point M-351941E 393878N), travelling in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 30 metres approximately (Point N-351913E 393887N), then in a northerly direction for a distance of 117 metres approximately (Point P-351879 393999N), then for a further distance of 228 metres approximately, terminating at its junction with Sherdley Road (Point R). Average width 3 metres approximately. Shown on Plan No. 910/S/F with a continuous black line between Points M-N-P-R. Schedule II Description of Proposed Diversion Route M-S-P-R Commencing at its junction with Green End Lane (Point M-351941E 393878N), travelling in a northerly direction for a distance of 35 metres approximately (Point S-351913E 393908N), then continuing in a northerly direction for a distance of 107 metres approximately (Point P-351875E 393999N), then continuing along its original route terminating at its junction with Sherdley Road (Point R). Average width 3 metres approximately. Shown on Plan No. 910/S/F with a broken black line between Points M-S-P-R. 19th May 1999.

NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO STOP UP HIGHWAY VERGE AT SCORECROSS, ST. HELENS, MERSEYSIDE

Notice is hereby given that St. Helens Metropolitan Borough Coucil intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Corporation Street, St. Helens, on 29th June 1999, at 2.15 p.m., for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that the highway mentioned in the Schedule hereto be authorised to be stopped-up on the ground that it is unnecessary. A plan showing the highway proposed to be stopped up may be inspected, free of charge, at my office at the Town Hall, St. Helens, during normal office hours. Any person to whom this notice has been given or who uses the said highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the said Order may attend and be heard on the application. V. Horton, Solicitor to the Council Schedule The irregular portion of highway verge shown hatched on Plan No. G10/S adjacent to the highway known as Scorecross and adjoining the north-easterly highway boundary fence line. Commencing at a point 23 metres north-west of the north-west kerb-line of Green End Lane and extending a distance of approximately 165 metres in a north-westerly direction abutting and parallel to the existing fence line of varying width, minimum 5 metres and a maximum 15 metres. 19th May 1999.
