NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 to the Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Environment Act 1995) that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Darrington Quarries Ltd, Darrington Leys, Cridling Stubbs, Knottingley, West Yorkshire WR11 0AH, for consent to discharge pumped groundwater from Darrington North Quarry into local field drainage at National Grid Reference SE 5099 2173 in order to allow the restoration of mineral workings by landfill. Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, North East Region, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, for the attention of Simon Bullett, not later than 6th July 1999. A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the local Environment Agency office at Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. up to 6th July 1999. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interested parties, it is decided that consent can be given, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that the effluent receives treatment before discharge to the receiving waters so that the above aims are met. 25th May 1999.
