NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that British Wterways Board, of Willow Grange, Church Road, Watford, Hertfordshire
WD1 3QA, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary a Licence Serial No. 2/27/18/102,
which authorises the abstraction of water from the Selby Canal between National Grid
Reference SE 5928 2939 and SE 5958 2948, at Burn in the district of Selby.
The variation being applied for is (1) an increase in the daily abstraction rate
from 491 cubic metres to 981.6 cubic metres to facilitate 24-hour pumping so that
the water can be used more efficiently, and (2) a slight increase in the area of land
on which canal water may be used for spray irrigation on (this change is required
to rectify a mistake on the original application).
A copy of the application and any map, plans or other documents submitted with it
may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Manor Farm, Hambleton,
Selby, North Yorkshire YO8 9JG, between 4th June and 4th July 1999.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so
in writing to the Environment Agency, North East Region, Phoenix House, Global Avenue,
Leeds LS11 8PG, before the end of the said period.
