NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO GRANT AN EXTENSION TO A PUBLIC GAS TRANSPORTERS LICENCE

The Director General of Gas Supply, pursuant to secton 7(5) of the Gas Act 1986, hereby gives notice that she proposes to grant an extension to a licence under that section held by ScottishPower Gas Limited, whose registered office is situated at 1 Atlantic Quay, Glasgow G2 8SP. The extension, if awarded, will authorise the above-named to convey gas through pipes to any premises in the areas briefly described below and shown on maps previously submitted to the Director General. Areas: Dullatur Project 10, Cumbernauld; Dedridge North Road, Livingston; Greenock Road, Bishopton; Mains Drive, Erskine; Kirktonfield Road, Nielston; Whitefield Terrace, Lennoxtown; Sidehead Road, Stonehouse; Eastfield Road, Carrickstone, Cumbernauld; Westburn Gardens, Edinburgh; Alderstone Road, Livingston; Pitreavie Castle, Dunfermline. Copies of these maps are available for inspection at the Office of Gas Supply at the address shown below. The Director General is of the opinion that the above-named applicant intends to carry on the activities which may be authorised by its licence under section 7 of the Act in the areas named, and that the granting of the extension will be calculated: (a) to secure that reasonable demands for gas in Great Britain are met, and (b) to secure effective competition in the supply of gas conveyed through pipes. Any representations or objections with respect to the proposed extensions may be made in writing and delivered to Miss R. Savage, Office of Gas Supply, 16 Palace Street, London SW1E 5JD, no later than 28th May 1999.
