NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that N & M Sizer Ltd., of Bedford Farm, Sedge Fen, Lakenheath, Suffolk IP27 9LF, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from drains of the Burnt Fen and Lakenheath Internal Drainage Boards at Lakenheath, Suffolk. The proposal is to abstract water at National Grid Reference TL 689 834 at the following rates: 6,360 cubic metres per year, 909.2 cubic metres per day and 45.46 cubic metres per hour. Also to abstract water at National Grid Reference TL 697 830 at the following rates: 12,300 cubic metres per year, 909.2 cubic metres per day and 45.46 cubic metres per hour; both at Lakenheath Parish, Forest Heath District, Suffolk. The water is for spray irrigation purposes between April and September each year. The application is to renew an existing Licence Serial No. 6/33/39/S/287 (incorporating 6/33/46/105) which expires on 30th September 1999 with no increase in quantities. A copy of the application and any map, plan or other document submitted may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Bedford Farm, Sedge Fen, Lakenheath, Suffolk IP27 9LF, between 13th May and 10th June 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon PE18 8NE, before the end of the said period.
