PROPOSED CHANGE TO MAXIMUM STAY AT “PAY AND DISPLAY” BAYS—BRAMLEY HILL, CLIFFE ROAD AND NOTTINGHAM ROAD

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make the Croydon (West) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1993 (Amendment No. M2) Traffic Order, 1999 under the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act, 1985 and the Road Traffic Regulation (Parking) Act 1986. 2. The general effect of the Orders would be: (a) to convert the designated “pay and display” parking bays in Cliffe Road from 4 hour parking bays to 2 hour parking bays and the conversion of 8 hour parking bays to 4 hour parking bays in Bramley Hill and Nottingham Road, between Warham Road and Bramley Hill; (b) to provide that the charge for leaving a vehicle in a 2 hour parking bay vary from 50p for thirty minutes up to £2 (maximum) for 2 hours (maximum) with no return within one hour; (c) to provide that the charge for leaving a vehicle in a 4 hour parking bay vary from 40p for thirty minutes up to £1.80 (maximum) for 4 hours (maximum) with no return within one hour. 3. A copy of the proposed Orders, and of all related Orders, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the proposed Waiting and Loading Restriction relates can be inspected until the expiration of a period of 28 days from the date on which this notice is published during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey. 4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Public Services and Work Department, London Borough of Croydon on 0181-686 4433 extension 4972. 5. The Councillors for this Ward are Andrew Berry, Lord Bowness, Patrick Hecks, Chris Allen, Marilyn Allen and Charlie Burling. 6. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Public Services & Works Department, Room 4.06, Municipal Offices, Fell Road, Croydon, quoting Ref. T&P/PS/JGW/7/T2 within the aforementioned period of 28 days. 7. The proposed Order is intended to reduce the maximum length of stay of the parking bays in Cliffe Road from 4 hours to 2 hours and in Bramley Hill and Nottingham Road, between Warham Road and Bramley Hill from 8 hours to 4 hours to reduce commuter parking and promote more efficient use of parking space for residential users.
